Co-evolution in Sci Fi.

Screen shot 2011-03-13 at 08.00.17.png Hat tip to Mika Latokartano for the link to this infographic on the history Sci-Fi. As ever one can argue about inclusions or exclusions and the modern section is seriously deficient with a failure to display much in the serious and literary manifestations of the genre. It only really handles film and television. No Gaiman, Donalson, Kay or many others. That said what I like about it is the way it shows the way coevolution works in a genre as much as in biology. As we get interactions between agents patterns form and all other future patterns are informed by that. A warning, however, looking at the fine detail on this diagram is seriously addictive.
