The various “On this day” feeds that come into my RSS feed often show some interesting coincidences. Today for example saw:

  • 1814 Napoleon Bonaparte exiled to Elba
  • 1951 Douglas McArthur fired from his Koean command for proposing the invasion of China
  • 1979 Udi Amin ousted by Tanzanian forces
