Eat your heart out Semple

December 29, 2007

Well he did ask : only 47,416 miles, small beer
285,054 miles, 48 airports, 117 flights in 2007
Thanks to Great Circle Mapper for the facility

Interesting question on perception here. I was convinced I had done eight round the world trips this year, but in fact the above only shows one. Multiple out to Australia and back, then to the US must have created the impression.

Please do not work out the effect on the environment, I am already feeling guilty, but its six times Euans …..

Some stats above and below. The most interesting however would be interesting people met for the first time, meals and drinks with old friends, lost luggage, starbucks city mugs bought, grotty hotels, wonderful hotels, insect bites, fungal infections, gin and tonics drunk on planes, missed flights (1), near missed flights (100+ I push it), luggage items that survived the year, films watched on planes, reprehensible individuals who wanted to talk on planes, airport meetings arranged, time spent in security queues, baggage screeners who did not detect my alarm clock or illegal liquid store (that would scare you), temperature range experienced (Finland with its frozen harbour to midsummer in Death Valley), hotel laundry bills, cost of text messaging to daughter …..

One of these days.
