Like one, that on a lonesome road
Doth walk in fear and dread,
And having once turned round walks on,
And turns no more his head;
Because he knows, a frightful fiend
Doth close behind him tread.
I must admit, that two of my three May Day postings reminded me of this verse from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. In case that was not enough I now have the ability to monitor A Global Incident Map Displaying Terrorist and other Suspicious Events. Mind you it also includes news items such as Greenpeace Hinders Reactor Construction so I think we can say it is broad in scope. I have no idea who is behind this site, the news articles seem genuine but I make no political statement as to its origins or respectability. What it does show, is some indication of the volume of material involved in anti-terrorism.
If you want to amuse yourself, look through the site and see how easy it is to create a credible story based on minor incidents that, with hindsight you could blame the Intelligence Community for not spotting in time. Thanks to Tom for the reference, and I will be sending him the bill for my sleeping pills and prozac.
