Launching the Community & Housing Pre-designed Collector

Is your community thriving and connected? Is there energy for change but things stay stuck? Is it  just hard to determine what to prioritise? Where and how we live has a big impact on our wellbeing, and there is now an emerging field of ecopsychology and urban planning research to back that up.

If you’re asking yourself questions like these, you’ll be glad to hear we’re officially launching the Community & Housing pre-designed collector. We’re passionate about working towards more inclusive tenant engagement in the housing sector. That’s why, this week, we’re excited to share an off-the-shelf collector focused on housing. It can help you explore and understand the relationship between community and housing in your area, and to use the data insights to help determine what to prioritise within your community. 

Check out SenseMaker® Community & Housing collector, and check out our brochure detailing the theory and reasoning behind each signifier. You can make minor adjustments for no extra cost, and get extra add-ons such as such as sense-making workshops for your community, or a story book. 

The signifiers included in this collector and based on a series of projects and collaborations with social housing providers across the UK. One such project is a 12-month active sense-making collaboration with Community Housing Cymru, aimed at improving housing association services across Wales. Housing is one of the most fundamental aspects of our daily lives. Whatever the situation in your community, our living situations and the surrounding environment could always be improved. The aim is to explore how people feel about their area, who is responsible and what needs to change. Safe, affordable housing is key to our physical and mental wellbeing so let’s work together to make it a reality for every person living in the UK. 

We’re especially pleased to launch the Community & Housing pre-designed SenseMaker collector in time for Dave’s keynote speech at the Social Housing Conference on using data insights to deliver effectively on priorities. 

This collector is available for single organisations, or if you are a group of organisations, we can create a club/community of practice, similar to the project we did with the Community Housing Cymru project. We’d like to build a network of leaders and innovators in the housing sector and associated professions to develop a first of its kind approach to collaborative and evidence-informed community insight, service design and policy making.
