When he heard Dave for the first time, Bernhard Sterchi found in the Cynefin Framework a missing cornerstone of the conceptual building on which he was teaching complexity-savvy leadership. But as impressed as many leaders are with Cynefin and connected concepts, most of them, especially on more operational levels, struggle with translating their enthusiasm into something to do differently next week. In this talk, Bernhard shares some of his essential building blocks and experiences of helping leaders make use of Cynefin in their practice.
Bernhard Sterchi supports leaders as a thought sorter and minder of opportunities. Holdig a PhD in historical anthropology, he has spent several years inside corporations managing HR and knowledge management projects. With the consulting firm Management Zentrum St. Gallen he has learnt and taught systems oriented approaches to management, after which he has founded Palladio Trusted Advisers, and with that company continues to develop methods and tools that help leaders deal with high complexity. He is the author of The Leader’s Fairytales and Oblique Strategies for Leaders.
