Join us for a journey into complexity, build new networks, and explore what SenseMaker® could do for your work… This 5 day, hands-on course offers an introduction to the principles and approaches of anthro-complexity, how these approaches compare to traditional research and survey methods, and when best to apply them. Working through ‘The Learning Power of Listening: A Practical Guide for Using SenseMaker®’ released by Oxfam and Catholic Relief Services, attendees will explore research project design, how to sample, engage stakeholders, train up interviewers, and navigate ethical issues.
About the Programme
Through a 5 day, hands-on course, you will learn the principles and approaches of anthro-complexity, how these approaches compare to traditional methods, and when best to apply them. You will learn how to design your own research project, how to sample, engage stakeholders, train up interviewers, and explore ethical issues. And you will learn how to collect and analyse data, explore a new theory of change, and get the best out of community workshops.
The course includes access to a Community of Practice, where the guide’s co-authors and expert project leads will share their years of experience and pioneering case studies. There will be a chance to delve deeper into the topics discussed throughout the course, share inspiring thoughts and ideas, and raise challenges and questions with the team.
A complimentary copy of the book ‘The Learning Power of Listening: A Practical Guide for Using SenseMaker®’ released by Oxfam and Catholic Relief Services will be provided.

Cancellations & Rescheduling
Voluntary cancellations by registrants are permitted at any time up to 14 days prior to the course start and a refund for the amount paid will be provided less a 10% refund processing fee. Substitutions are permitted at any time as well as rescheduling attendance to an alternate session within a year of the original course start date. Substitutions and/or rescheduling of courses for discounted tickets may be subject to rescheduling restrictions and/or fee supplements.
Cognitive Edge reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule training sessions. In the event of cancellation or rescheduling, a registered attendee can request a full refund of course fees. Refunds will be processed within ten (10) business days of refund request

The SenseMaker Virtual QuickStart (VQS) offers an 8-week learn-as-you-do journey, where we work with you to deliver your own, real pilot engagement, step-by-step.
Option 3: Training, CoP, VQS to build bespoke + 12 month license
A 12-month SenseMaker license will allow you to run up to 3 projects over a 12 month period.
Option 4: Training, CoP, 1 year off-the-shelf predesigned Pulse
Our pre-defined Pulses offer off-the-shelf solutions to engagement around specific themes.
