Thatching complete

December 1, 2010

Its a winter day with a dusting of snow and more promised for tomorrow. The scaffolding is down and I have light in my study again. The thatcher’s craft is well illustrated by the roof line above and after an expensive few months we will not see Gary and his son Ian for another eight years or so. Part of the pleasure of working with craftsmen is the conversations over coffee; there is always a depth to people who work with their hands.
