Venice

October 28, 2006

We managed to get the whole family to Venice for the past week. Wonderful value in the Venice Card Orange Card which provided seven days of transport on the Vaporetti as well as entry to the main museums and churches. Less value from the Gondolier who I think ripped us off, but it was after all for the experience. One special delight in some of the best sea food I have had in years. My daughter and I found da Alivise by accident one night and booked the family in the next day. The mixed sea food platter, followed by Spaghetti cooked in a sauce with shell fish and completed by Turbot oven baked to perfection made for a wonderful last meal. The wine was something special as well.
