It's been a long week without my Macbook, but I finally have it back and everything set up and working with a 1Tb hard disk that should give me a year or so before I need to buy a new machine. I couldn't resolve MacBook Pro Retina, v Air without and I suspect a whole bunch of new stuff in a year's time anyway around watches, docks and the like. Also I like my 17″ screen so I can keep that for a little longer.
It all took longer than planned as the courier pickup ended up with the MacBook bent and requiring a new case. As of today I also had to pay for replacement, adding some £300 to the bill. That saga will run a little, but I may end up having to name and shame at some point and/or get a lawyer involved. I shouldn't have to pay for a failure by a courier selected by the vendor, no should I be told that the only way I might not have to pay is to leave the MacBook with them for two weeks for a loss adjuster to inspect it. I'm going to try and be polite at first, but then we shall see. Any lawyers out there prepared to barter let me know!
Overall the week has not been the most enjoyable, some difficult decisions to make and implement at the end of the week and while my completion of the South Downs Way at the start of the week was a joyous affair, it was somewhat marred by returning to the car late at night to find my tyres had been let down; and the nearest mobile phone reception was some miles away. I'll backfill a few blogs for those who want to keep up to date on the walks, but tomorrow I will get back to blogging with serious intent. There are also some big announcements next week on training modules, accreditation and the like so watch this space.
