By now you will have read Dave Snowden’s welcome post concerning our new website, which we’re very pleased to say has finally been given the figurative breath of life after no small amount of effort from our friends at Studio Drieluik and Yell Design – gentlemen, it’s been a pleasure working with you.
Our Network Members, both Premium and Basic, and our mailing list contacts have also been notified by email about the launch, and several emails have already winged their way towards my inbox, all concerning the (new) login process.
A bit of context, to hopefully clear the air and make the process less onerous… our previous site had ExpressionEngine as a content management system, and personally I’m glad to see the back of it. We are now using WordPress which makes updating, blogging and interacting far less of a pain. To get the most out of it, however, we’ve had to painstakingly import all our members’ details as ExpressionEngine does not like to talk to other systems; as a result, the old ‘user profiles’ had to be abandoned in favour of a clean slate with WordPress. Somewhat fitting, I think, especially after Easter and in the proverbial spirit of spring cleaning.
The emails included steps to logging into our new site, which bears repeating, and if it is not too much trouble we’d like to invite you to re-create your user profiles with us.
As I’m co-ordinator of this digital transition you may send all feedback and issues to me personally at jules.yim[at]cognitive-edge.com; all will be logged and prioritised. I have also been volunteered as staff blogger for the next week, the reasons for which shall become apparent…
